Escape from the Outland

Ma Xiao (Xiao Yang), a foreign correspondent, his wife Pan Wenjia (Qi Xi), a volunteer doctor, and engineer Miao Feng (Zheng Kai), who are working on repairing a remote base‑station when chaos erupts. They, along with a Chinese business‑man Zhou Weijie (Simon Yam), are captured by an extremist militia, stripped of freedom and thrown into a brutal hostage situation. Over more than three months of captivity, the group endures terror, sees unspeakable violence, and must rely on wit, solidarity and sheer willpower to stage an escape.
